Christopher McHale's Biography

Christopher McHale is a writer, composer, producer, and director whose career has been built around one enduring fascination: the power of sound to tell stories.
From the recording studios of New York to advertising, television, theater, and original entertainment, Christopher has spent decades bringing words, music, and performances together. As founder of McHale Barone, one of New York's leading audio production companies, he collaborated with extraordinary performers, musicians, writers, and creative teams. His work has earned more than 500 international awards, including Cannes Lions, Clios, and Radio Mercury Awards.
Today, Christopher describes himself as a Sonic Humanist—someone who believes that sound, music, and storytelling are fundamental to our humanity. It's a philosophy that informs everything he creates.
As Chief Creative Officer of Studio Jijiji, he is developing a new kind of independent media studio where artists experiment, collaborate, retain ownership of their work, and participate fairly in its success.
His current projects include *The Bandoleers*, an original science-fiction audio adventure; *The Diplomat's Son*, a memoir; and *The Little Yellow Book of Voiceover*, a collection of lessons from a lifetime behind the microphone.
Whether composing, writing, directing, or building something entirely new, Christopher remains driven by curiosity and a simple conviction: the most powerful stories are the ones that make us feel something.
