America the Warlord

America built a war machine.
A trillion dollars a year to feed it.
An arms industry worth hundreds of billions more.
We make the most lethal weapons in history—stealth bombers, hypersonic missiles, aircraft carriers the size of cities. We build them not for defense, but for export. For profit. For power.
Vietnam: a war with no victory.
Iraq: a war with no purpose.
Afghanistan: a war of arrogance and failure.
What was the point of these wars?
Weapons. Manufacturing. Obscene wealth.
We dress war in honor, but our soldiers come home to a nation that was never at war—at least not in spirit. While they fought, America made money. Wall Street surged. Defense stocks soared. We wrapped ourselves in flags and went shopping.
What is war without sacrifice? It’s not war. It’s business.
Then yesterday, Trump said something strange. He said no one knows if he’ll go to war—including himself.
And I’ll admit: that uncertainty, that hesitation—that’s the first thing I’ve liked about him.
I’m anti-war. To the bone.
Maybe Trump’s inconsistency could finally be used for good. Maybe the chaos leads to peace.
Let Iran propose a nuke-free Middle East.
Let Israel dismantle its bombs.
Let’s step off the path of endless war.
Let’s remember World War II ended 89 years ago.
And let’s finally honor the institutions of peace we were once proud to build.
Because there is no future in war. There never was.
